| Beachside seafood beckons! |
 |
| another little delight |
Today we will let the photos do the talking. OK, can't help myself. After a late start we meandered through the old town of Chania through to the new town. We took a few turns into some beautiful old laneways, past people's front doors. There is a lot of painting, polishing, paving, etc going on putting some shine around town before the summer tourist influx starts. That said I hope the tradies here are not on an hourly rate, bugger me they are slow!

| Delicious cinnamon spicing the Cretan dishes |
 |
| Baccala (dried cod) an acquired taste! |
We visited the original Chania covered market which was interesting, particularly the photo history depicting it's build back in the 1920's, German occupation in WW2, through to today.

| And on the 7th day God created Greek food |
 |
| Cheese, cheese and more cheese..yes please |
Gina was hungry again so we stopped at a taverna serving typical Cretan style cooking. Once we both stopped salivating and re-gained reason we settled on a dish of mountain vegetables, dolma, stuffed tomato, boureki and green pepper, all served by the lovely (gorgeous) Christianna and cooked with love by her mother. Finished with an ouzo and rolled out an our and a half later. I keep telling myself "pace yourself Andrew, there are plenty of days ahead", but a dark voice inside me says "so much good food to, so little time". Dark voices always win.
